First Grade Teacher (Alternate Title: Director of Learning)

JOB SUMMARY

As a First Grade Teacher, you will be instrumental in nurturing a love for learning by creating meaningful relationships with our students and their families, facilitating a dynamic educational experience that caters to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement mastery learning architecture to provide tailored instruction, relevant practice, and continuous assessment.
• Maintain up-to-date learning plans for each student, ensuring efficient classroom operation and academic progression.
• Collaborate with the Head of School to analyze student data for informed instructional planning.
• Engage with families weekly to communicate student progress and expectations.

Essential Functions

• Foster a positive learning environment encouraging risk-taking and resilience.
• Apply teaching methodologies that promote long-term retention and comprehension.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree (any field) required, with a passion for both learning and teaching.
• Experience: At least 3 years in a school setting with classroom management responsibilities. Additional training provided as needed.
• Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken), deep understanding of academic content, and proficiency in school software applications.
• Certifications: Teaching certificate not required. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, 3 years of teaching experience, or specialized expertise.

Teaching Schedule

• Teach Monday-Thursday with five 45-minute instructional blocks daily, plus breaks.

Working Conditions

• Active role involving significant movement and interaction with young learners.
• Primarily indoor classroom setting, with team support for extracurricular supervision.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $55,000 annually, plus up to $2,000 bonus for meeting our targets.
• Benefits: $6,000 healthcare contribution (pending finalization).
• High quality of life with no after-hours lesson planning or grading.
• Full-time position, working 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 190 days/year with summers and holidays off.
